Revealing Auction Price for Renewable Energy by Germany’s Bundesnetzagentur: No Impact upon Economy

Bundesnetzagentur, one of the Integral figures in Germany overseeing several important industrial sectors, has shed light on the auction prices for 2024. With the revelation of all the costs, the heads of the organization have ensured a trustworthy strategy. They have revealed that all the prices have been finalized after factoring in the actual price of all sorts of renewable energy involved.

Before exploring the agency’s vision for the future, let’s take a look at the auction prices for 2024:

  • Onshore Wind: 7.35 cents/kWh
  • ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) systems: 7.37 cents/kWh
  • rooftop solar installations: 10.50 cents/kWh

Shortly, the agency also intends to put price ceilings on biomass, biomethane, and other such auctions. In the present scenario, however, the onshore wind and ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) systems have managed to maintain their high price. The same cannot be said about rooftop solar installations. This is due to the absence of noteworthy bids that valued it at more than 10.5 kWh.

The costs, as revealed by the agency, have been reached after carefully considering several factors that play a significant role. This includes construction, operations, finances, etc. The pre-existing high costs had made it difficult to adhere to the operational standards. Therefore, the revisions in the auction prices were necessary to maintain seamless operations and functions.
