India has been working towards the development and progress of the renewable energy sector for many years. In recent times, it has also been able to generate foreign investments through its innovative and advanced ideas and products in the same sector. As a result of all the ongoing development, the Nation’s renewable sector has managed to receive almost 6 billion dollars as Foreign Direct Investment.
In a statement presented in writing by R.K Singh, he mentioned: “As per information available with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the country has received a total FDI Equity investment amounting to USD 6,137.39 Million in the renewable energy sector, during the last three financial years and the current financial year (till 30.09.2023)”.
Further, he mentioned the future plans that the Nation is working on to strengthen the renewable sector and generate both global and state-level investments for the same. Moreover, several schemes have already been introduced to facilitate a seamless flow of investment and implementation of greener initiatives. This includes Pradhan Mantri Kishan Urja Suraksha, Uthan Mahabhiyan, Solar Rooftop Phase-2, and more. Another remarkable initiative that is all set to make India one of the leading producers of green energy, especially hydrogen, is the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
Apart from introducing new ideas and implementing them, the National government has also facilitated the removal of charges for the renewal of energy resources. India is now paving the way for all countries and World leaders to follow and create a greener world for future generations.
