The price of our Standard tariff will increase on 01 Apr 2019. We have now switched to paperless bills and correspondence. If you also want paper communications please let us know; you will incur a separate charge of £5 per quarter unless you are on our Priority Services Register
Here are answers to some common questions about the Standard price change.
Why are my rates changing?
We always do our best to secure the best rates for our customers.
The price has been aligned to the new government price cap for standard variable or default tariffs. The price cap ensures that the unit price you pay for your gas and electricity is justified based on what it costs to get energy to you. You can have peace of mind that you are paying a fair price for your energy.
By how much will the price increase?
Based on Ofgem’s medium consumption levels, for a dual fuel customer paying by Direct Debit the price has increased by an average of 10.3%. Gas prices will increase by 9.4% and electricity prices by 11%. A dual fuel household with typical usage will see annual bills rise from £1,137 to £1,253 /year.

What are my new rates?
Existing customers – You will receive a letter or email from us to let you know what your new gas and electricity rates are.
New customers - If you have recently registered to switch your gas or electricity to our Standard tariff and your supply start date is before 1 April, you will join on our current rates. You’ll automatically switch over to the new rates on 1 April.
If you have recently registered to switch supply to our Standard tariff and your supply start date is after 1 April, you will automatically join on our new rates.
When will I be charged at the new rates?
The new rates will be applied on 1 April 2019.
